nota sobre las temporadas
en el español no nos damos naturalmente. las temporadas sirven para diferenciarnos de las personas naturales. cuando no hay temporadas, digamos, cuando somos de un país caribeño, mejor, cuando somos de un territorio, no se nos permite usar la x, excepto para la palabra xilófono, porque ¿quién usa xilófono? ¿y quién nos quiere? cada vez que piensas que estas preguntas no son la misma, reconoces que nunca me conociste.
si voy a explorar mi nacionalidad, tengo que ser reconocible. eso lo saben todos. de hecho, si no me reconoces, es como si no tuviera nación.
les escribí lo siguiente en una carta a los leones del zoológico de mayagüez:
sé que en estos momentos son leones y llevan mucho tiempo en el calor, pero cuando sean culebras, no habrá verja que los contenga. tendrían que ponerlos en una jaula de cristal. a esta jaula le llaman pecera. pero tranquilos, que cuando sean arañas, podrían salir de la pecera. subirán hasta el techo. quizás les tome varias semanas encontrar la ventana, pero en el ínterin, comerán mosquitos, pues estos abundan.

anmerkung zu den jahreszeiten
im spanischen kommen wir nicht auf natürliche weise vor. wir jahreszeiten dienen dazu, uns von natürlichen personen abzugrenzen. wenn es keine jahreszeiten gibt, wenn wir beispielsweise aus einem karibikland kommen, besser gesagt, aus einem überseegebiet, dann dürfen wir kein x benutzen, außer für das wort xylophon, denn wer benutzt schon ein xylophon? und wer mag uns? jedes mal, wenn du denkst, diese fragen sind nicht dieselben, erkennst du, dass du mich nie kennengelernt hast.
wenn ich meine nationalität erkunden will, muss ich wiedererkennbar sein. das wissen alle. wenn du mich aber nicht anerkennst, ist es, als hätte ich keine nation.
den löwen im zoo von mayagüez habe ich folgenden brief geschrieben:
